Instructions:
Fleet Pediatric Enema is easy to use. The child may be placed on the left side with the knees drawn up or lie face down if that seems more comfortable. A young child can lie on his/her back, and the buttocks should be raised by lifting the legs. The enema does not require warming and may be used at room temperature. Remove the protective cap from the pre-lubricated rectal tube before using and insert the tube gently pointing it in the direction of the navel. Slowly squeeze the bottle to empty the contents into the rectum. An extra amount of solution is provided to allow for the quantity normally remaining in the bottle after squeezing. The tube is then withdrawn, and the buttocks held together until the child appears ready to have a bowel movement, usually within 2 to 5 minutes.
