Personal Information Security
At CTC Health, we will not collect, use, or disclose your personal information without your consent – except as required or permitted by law. We do not and will not sell or rent your personal information to anyone for any reason.
Personal Information is information about an identifiable individual. It does not include business contact information or information which is anonymous or aggregated.
Personal information you provide to us will only be used by us as part of our ongoing efforts to provide you with superior service and selection. We take extensive measures designed to protect your privacy by safeguarding any personal information we collect, provide to third-party service providers and/or store during the course of doing business together. Our privacy standards meet or exceed the guiding principles established in federal and provincial privacy legislation.
Privacy Protection
CTC Health is responsible for maintaining and protecting the customer information under its control.
The purposes for which your information is collected, used or disclosed shall be identified before or at the time the information is collected, used or disclosed. We do not use or disclose personal information for reasons other than the specific purpose for which it was originally collected or consented to. CTC Health will limit the collection and use of your information to the minimum we require to deliver superior service to you, our customer; this includes advising and providing you with our products, services and other opportunities, and to administer our business.
Your knowledge and consent (express or implied) are required for the collection, use or disclosure of your personal information except where required or permitted by law.
Any personal information we collect from you is limited to those details necessary for the business transaction, as described further below, and we only collect this information using fair and lawful means.
We will only use or disclose your personal information for the purpose for which it was collected – unless you provide us with consent to do otherwise or when it is required or permitted by law. We will not retain your personal information any longer than required to fulfill the needs of why we collected the information.
Our commitment is to maintain your personal information as accurate, complete and up-to-date as is necessary for the purpose that we collected it for in the first place.
We are committed to protecting your personal information with safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of that information.
Collection of personal information
The information you provide when you make a purchase on the Website is collected by CTC Health to process and fulfill your online transaction(s). When making an online purchase you will be requested to provide information including: name, phone, address, email and payment information. This information enables us to ensure that your goods are shipped to the right address and to contact you as needed in connection with your order. CTC Health does not retain credit card information unless requested to do so, in which case it is securely maintained and encrypted.
In order to protect all parties from fraudulent transactions and reduce risk of misuse of personal information, CTC Health may provide your personal information, including your address and credit card information, to reputable third party organizations to perform data verification. For example, an address verification is intended to ensure that the address provided appears valid and that the “Bill to” address matches your credit card address.
You may sign up for an account at the Website so that you will not need to re-enter all the information required to complete a purchase each time you place an online order. To sign up for an account we will ask you to provide certain personal information including name, email and ask you to create a password. Registered users of the Website have the ability to view, update and change their personal profile within this site.
By signing up for an account, you may benefit from an enhanced online user experience through additional functionality and services that may only be available to registered users, such as subscription order services, improved product recommendations, personalized offers and store locator suggestions.
If you request a subscription order service, your credit card information is maintained by our processor Moneris in an encrypted and tokenized manner. Your email will be used to notify you of upcoming shipments. You may cancel or change your subscription order by logging into your account.
COOKIES, TRACKING AND ONLINE INTEREST BASED ADVERTISING (OBA) NOTICE
When you visit our Websites, you are welcome to browse anonymously without providing personal information. Like most companies, we automatically gather certain forms of aggregated or non-personally identifiable data when you interact with our digital or electronic properties and communications, such as our Websites, Apps, emails and texts (collectively referred to as “digital properties”). To extent any such data is or becomes personally identifiable, we treat it as personal information in accordance with our Privacy policy.
We use cookies and other automatic data tracking technologies (see definition of “Tracking Tech” below) to collect certain information as you navigate through our Websites and digital properties. The type of information we collect may include:
- Details about your interaction with our Websites and digital properties, such as: date, time, length and frequency of visits, pages and content viewed, page interactions (such as scrolling, clicks and mouseovers), action taken (such as placing items in cart, downloads or purchases made);
- Frequency communications are opened, action taken and links clicked;
- Information about your device used and internet connection, such as your country, device type, operating system, browser type, referral URL and similar details.
The automated information we collect helps us to improve our Websites and to deliver a better and more personalized service.
Most of the information collected is aggregated and statistical and helps us to understand how visitors explore and interact with our Websites. Automated data helps us estimate our audience size and usage patterns. We may analyze website performance, administer services, track user movement for analytics, including purchasing and online behaviors, and gather aggregated demographic information.
Automated data we collect may also help improve the content, administration and delivery of services and understand how our customers prefer to use our Websites and services. We may be able to prepopulate certain information so that you do not have to enter it multiple times and remember your preferences. It may also help us to deliver relevant advertising and to measure and understand the effectiveness of advertising we serve to you and others.
Sharing information with advertising platforms
In addition to the automated information described above, we may share a limited amount of customer contact information with advertising and analytics platforms that provide services to us, including Google and Microsoft. We do this so that we can show advertising to our existing customers, avoid showing advertising to customers who have recently purchased from us, reach new customers whose interests resemble those of our existing customers, and measure how well our advertising is working.
The information involved may include your email address, telephone number, first and last name, country, and postal or ZIP code. Before this information leaves our systems it is converted into a coded value using a one-way cryptographic process known as SHA-256 hashing. The advertising platform receives only the coded value, not your actual contact details, and uses it solely to determine whether it matches an existing account on its own service. These platforms act as our service providers: under our agreements with them they may use this information only to provide these services on our behalf, and may not use it for their own purposes or disclose it to other advertisers.
We rely on your consent for this sharing, and you may withdraw that consent at any time. To do so, or to ask us to remove your information from our advertising audiences, contact us at [email protected]. Withdrawing your consent will not affect your ability to purchase from us or the service you receive. You can also control personalised advertising directly through each platform’s own advertising settings, and through the opt-out mechanisms described above.
